Since early in January we have been increasingly concerned about Coronavirus. From the beginning we tried to compare it to some other disease in our history, but alas, it is new and unique and not willing to be compared to other viruses we have some experience fighting. Most importantly, because none of us have ever met the Coronavirus before, we are all vulnerable at some level.
Democrats and Republicans have tried to impose their preferred governmental approach to the problem although neither has achieved much success. Democrats seem to favor a totally public governmental approach – the way Obama did it. Republicans are more comfortable with a less public and more private organization. Both approaches would work if given the chance, but Republicans are in charge and the legacy governmental organization belonged to the Democrats.
Both Democrats and Republicans are pushing for their preferred battle organization and the current majority makeup in the Executive and Legislative Branches is keeping everything pretty much stalled.
In the meantime, the Coronavirus is using a non-partisan battle organization. Coronavirus is attacking and infecting Democrats and Republicans with equal zeal. Coronavirus is an equal opportunity, non-prejudicial and non-partisan disease that couldn’t care less who we are or what we believe. For me, I believe we need a non-partisan response to fight this non-partisan disease.
