Practicing Lawyers

I don’t remember where I heard this, but there was said to be this small town along the Western frontier.  It was a small town.  In fact, it was so small that it could not support one Lawyer, but it could support two.

The point is this.  Lawyers argue with each other about disagreements between their clients.  Lawyers file motions with the appropriate court during such arguments.  When a Lawyer files a motion with a Court there is another threshold that must be crossed.  The filing must invoke a provision of the law that is alleged to have been infringed by the opposition.  Then, assuming that the motion is considered to have merit, the Lawyer will need to offer evidence that establishes to the Court’s satisfaction that the infraction took place and the opposition was the perpetrator of the infraction.

These concepts are relevant to our current situation because we are witnessing numerous motions coming from the Trump Lawyers alleging that something untoward has occurred in the various battleground states election processing.  We recall that the States are responsible for the conduct of elections with some oversight from the Federal Government.  In order for President Trump’s Lawyers to be successful, they would have to prevail in enough of their arguments to change the outcome of elections in sufficient States to give President Trump at least 270 Electoral Votes.  This is clearly a tall order regardless of which side of it you may be standing on.  There are thousands of votes that would need to be invalidated in several of those battleground States to change the outcome and the amount of those changes are mathematically outside the realm of possibility without substantial evidence and that evidence is yet to see the light of day.

In my mind it is time to show us the evidence.  Not innuendo or allegation, but real evidence.  To do anything else is simply un-American.
