Oath of Office

I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.

Every member of our United States House of Representatives and every member of our United States Senate are sworn into office with that oath.  Consider that for just a moment.  Are there any ambiguities in there, I don’t see them.  I see only absolute obligation and absolute responsibility.

With this in mind, I am of the opinion that every one of our Representatives and every one of our Senators are violating their oath of office.  Democrats are violating their oath.  Republicans are violating their oath.  Independents are violating their oath.  Every Representative and every Senator is violating their oath.

First and most important, Donald Trump and all of his followers, by their actions, have demonstrated themselves to be “domestic enemies” and our Representatives and Senators are not coming to grips with that fact.  Dealing with an enemy is not the same as dealing with a disagreeable citizen.  When you meet an enemy on the battle field do you start by reading him his rights?  Do you ask him about his grievances?  Every Representative and every Senator who are openly following Donald Trump or obstructing attempts to investigate his insurrectionist behaviors are “domestic enemies” and should be dealt with in that way.

The rest of our Representatives and Senators have dithered and done nothing to hold these domestic enemies responsible for their seditious and insurrectionist activities.  They are not “supporting and defending” the Constitution of these United States against those “domestic enemies” being led by Donald Trump.

Donald Trump and every one of his followers are “domestic enemies” and they should be treated exactly like any other enemy.  They do not deserve the rights afforded to our citizens.  No, they gave up those rights when they decided to overthrow our government.  Instead, they should all be taken into custody and held as prisoners of war until such time as their activities can be appropriately dealt with.  They are enemies of the United States!

And, worse yet, the rest of our Representatives and Senators have allowed Donald Trump and, more specifically, his elected followers to participate in our government and obstruct every attempt to deal with their misdeeds.  Think about that!  We are allowing our “domestic enemies” to participate in our government!  That can’t possibly be right.
