Here we are over eight months after the 2020 presidential election was certified by our Federal Legislature and the big lie continues to dominate our media narrative. The people who are spewing the big lie and other false narrative are using their activities to subvert our democratic process and I hear questions about what should be done.
What should be done? For me the answer is simple and straight forward. Follow the oath that every senator and every congressional representative took when they entered office.
I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.
“Support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.” Those who spew the big lie and supporting narrative are “domestic enemies” of the United States. They are insurrectionists today as they were on January 6th and they are un-American in their activities. They should be arrested, jailed, held without bail, and prosecuted as the “domestic enemies” that they are. Put them in jail and treat them as the seditionists that they have demonstrated themselves to be. For all those who are currently holding elected office, they are in violation of their oath and should be expelled from their office.
Now, let’s talk about elected officials that participate in partisan groups refusing to compromise in the name of democracy. Such people are also un-American and should be expelled from office for their seditionist activities.
If these sorts of penalties were imposed, I guarantee that the many partisan logjams would be broken in short order and democracy would once again prevail all across these United States of America.
