What Would Happen?

Thanks to President Trump and his cohorts we are living through an openly reawakened time of prejudicial conduct from white supremacists.  If you are like me, you had deluded yourself into the belief that these prejudicial ideologies were steadily decreasing in society over recent decades.  Apparently, the white supremacist ideologies were just hidden from our public eye and, as a result, we felt comfortable in the belief that they were in decline, but they were not.

If we really think about it, white supremacy is not just anti-black which is how we usually think of it.  No, white supremacy is anti-non-white.  White supremacy is anti-Black, is anti-Hispanic, is anti-Asian, and is anti- all other non-white members of society.

If we look at all the evidence we see lying around out in the open these days, we easily draw the conclusion that Republicans generally tend to hold these white supremacist ideologies.  Republican values appear to be in sync with QAnon, The Proud Boys, The Oath Keepers, and many other similar groups of people around our country that have their foundation planted in white supremacist values.  Our history books didn’t spend a lot of time on white supremacy and white supremacist behaviors, but in our information rich age of the internet we have no difficulty finding a more complete chronology of their activities.  It is not pretty and it did not start yesterday.

Consider, what would happen if all of the non-white groups joined together in one coalition seeking a more equitable future for the people of America.  Such a coalition could be as formal or as informal as the participants of the time might feel appropriate.  It could be as democratic as the Founding Fathers imagined for our Nation.  It could be as influential in the political arena as might be necessary at any particular time.  Imagine the impact of a non-white coalition platform of collective values on the daily dialogue of our society.  But, make no mistake, the white supremacist groups and individuals will exclaim their fear of such a coalition even if it is completely peaceful in everything they do.  And, those white supremacists will undoubtedly try to initiate unlawful activities that can be blamed on the non-white coalition.  We have witnessed these behaviors in the past so we will not be surprised to see them again.
